| How the Scheme Works
The ‘Token’ system
The scheme operates via a simple token system. Tokens can be purchased to fish any of the beats participating in the scheme although each token can only be used once. The tokens come in three parts - the first part is posted in a marked letterbox located close to the fishery, at the start of the day’s fishing. The second part is a catch return to be posted in the same letterbox at the end of the day’s fishing and the final part is the angler’s record.
Please make sure you complete a catch return, as this data is vital in helping us manage these fisheries sustainably. Please also provide us with any reports of suggestions (good or bad).
Fisheries are rated according to their ease of access and how easy they are to fish on a scale of 1 to 5 stars, 5 being the easiest. When describing fishing, right and left-hand bank is taken looking downstream.
The scheme operates on trust - please make sure you post tokens in the appropriate letterbox prior to starting fishing and follow any specific guidance on parking, accessing the fishery etc. Fishery owners and Trust staff patrol the fisheries on a random basis to ensure you day is not spoilt by others abusing the system.

Great value fishing
Token costs remain held at £2.50 per token for the 2008 season, making most fisheries between £5 and £12.50 a day, providing the roving day ticket angler with unsurpassed choice, quality and value.
With our desire to encourage young people to fish and experience our rivers, we continue the concession for under-16’s running across all the beats, allowing them to fish for half-price. For under 16’s, 2 and 3 token beats will be 1 token and 4 and 5 token beats will be 2 tokens.
The 2008 Season
For the 2008 season, the scheme has grown to 41 fisheries covering over 50kms of streams and rivers from Truro to Tiverton and we hope this will provide a wealth of watery delights for the game and coarse angler to explore.
If you are new to small stream river fishing or have struggled in the past, we suggest you take one of the local guides out for the day. They will help you unlock the secrets to catching wild fish in wild surroundings.
WRT is delighte d to announce it has teamed up with the South West Lakes Trust and now the tokens can be redeemed against a day’s fishing at the following trout fisheries; Kennick, Wimbleball, Siblyback, Stithians, Wistlandpound, Roadford, Colliford and Fernworthy. Whether you enjoy bank or boat fishing, are a novice or seasoned angler, prefer stocked or wild fisheries, these lakes provide fantastic sport in some of the regions most beautiful surroundings.
