Catch Returns and Prospects
Since setting up Angling 2000, we
have been very pleased with the catches recorded. You can find summaries of the of the catch returns for
the 2004 and 2005 seasons.
Season summary
FThe following is a quick mid-season round-up of the how the Angling 2000 beats have been fishing so far this year. Whilst 2007 has been a mixed blessing in terms of the weather, we are pleased that the scheme’s waters have, on the whole, been fishing very well. Indeed, good numbers of brown trout have been caught (with some cracking fish landed) and anglers have been enjoying walking the rivers and soaking up (no pun intended) the fantastic surroundings.
The season started very well and during April/May many beats were busy with some great sport reported during good hatches (several anglers having over 20 brown trout in a session). Anglers using killer bugs, nymphs and gold heads have also reported good fishing for brown trout and grayling.
However, whilst we were crying out for rain during June last year with the rivers low and the fishing hard, this year we have (like everyone else) been suffering from far too much of the stuff! Although the rivers have been up and down like a yo-yo, anglers have still be catching fish with several good sea trout caught on the Camel, Inny and Lyd. With the peal now arriving we should see more summer sport along with the chance of a grilse.
Please send us in any of your photos and we will try and get them up on the website or in next years Guide. We will of course credit any photos that we use.
