Upper Yealm Fishery

Approximately 1km of double bank fishing on the River Yealm, near Ivybridge. This is a lovely beat which combines two distinct sections of water. The upper section displays typical moorland river features with a mix of runs, pools and shallow riffle sections suiting dry fly/nymph fishing. The lower section is more open and has 5 holding pools which provide good brown trout and, with the right water, excellent sea trout fishing. The Yealm is a late run salmon river and there is a good chance of a fish, given the right conditions. Bank fishing is possible for most of the pools in the lower section although chest waders will allow you to cover some of the more tricky lies, especially in the upper section of the beat.
