3) Witheridge Mill Bridge

500m of single right hand bank. A lovely stretch of river with riffles, runs and several good pools. Mostly trout water, in the 6-10” range, with the odd larger one to 15” (an exceptional fish of 2.5lbs was caught in 2001). Broad Pit and Corner Pit pools offer the best chance for salmon and sea trout given adequate water. The beat will fish best in April, May, June and Sept although spates in August can provide good fishing for peal. Fished well in its opening season with plenty of trout caught (largest 10”) and trimming out last winter will help with covering the water.
