37) Tregeagle
(2 tokens) (1st April – 30th Sept)

600m of single bank sea trout fishing. This beat is just above the tide and as per Geens Mill this water is good for sea trout, with the chance of a salmon. Moderate trout fishing with a few decent fish. Try 7-8ft 5/6wt fly rods and fish in the gloaming for sea trout. They can be caught on a carefully presented nymph or dry fly by day, but worm, Rapalas and Mepps (size 2/3) are better, especially during, and straight after, a summer spate (even better if coinciding with spring tides). The section above the weir and pool below are generally the most productive. Numerous spates last summer meant many peal pushed on through this water although several were caught (to 14”) and one angler lost a 4lb+ fish at first light. Averaged 3 fish/rod with a best brownie of 10”.
