1600m of single right hand bank. Situated just downstream of Beat 24, this stretch has plenty of pools and deeper runs and holds brown trout (to 1½lb) and grayling with the occasional sea trout and salmon. Suited to a 7-8ft fly rod and 3-5wt it is best fished from within the river and regular trimming has helped provide good casting access. Can be prone to low flows and coloured water. The beat fished well last season and anglers enjoyed plenty of trout in the 8” to 11” range (best fish 13”) and grayling to 12”. It pays to try trotting weighted nymphs (either singly or New Zealand style) through the deeper water here.
