Description:
This very small stream gets a run of sea trout from late April until September, with the chance of a salmon in a late summer spate. On a visit in 2003, we counted 48 sea trout to about 2lb in 3 pools. If targeting sea trout on such a small stream try a short, powerful 7-8ft rod and fish in the gloaming. The summer peal can be caught on a carefully presented nymph or dry fly by day, but worm and Mepps (size 2) are better, especially during, and straight after, a summer spate (can also be very good following a spring tide). Best year so far was 2003 giving up 15 sea trout to 3lb.
