The Carey is a productive tributary of the Tamar with a good stamp of larger brown trout to the 1½lb mark and some decent grayling. There is also the chance of sea trout and salmon. The beat will be best fished from within the river using a 7- 8ft, 3-5wt fly rod. This stretch was trimmed last season to provide easy casting access. This beat has been very lightly fished over the past few years and should provide good fishing through the many deep pools and runs.
